Understanding Recurring Payments at TightHost

At TightHost, we aim to make managing your hosting plans and domain names as simple and worry-free as possible. To help ensure uninterrupted service, we offer automatic recurring payments for most services.

When you pay for a web hosting plan, domain registration, or upgrade using a credit/debit card or PayPal, a recurring payment (subscription) is automatically created for future billing cycles.

Why Recurring Payments Are Used

Recurring payments allow TightHost to automatically renew your hosting plan or domain name before it expires. This means:

  • You don’t have to remember renewal dates
  • Your websites stay online without interruption
  • You avoid service suspension due to missed payments

It’s a convenient way to ensure continuous service with no manual renewals required.

How Subscriptions Are Created

Subscriptions are created automatically at the time of payment:

  • Credit/Debit Card payments: Subscription details are included in your payment confirmation email.
  • PayPal payments: PayPal will send you a separate email confirming the subscription.

No additional setup is required on your part.

When Recurring Payments Are Processed

Recurring charges are processed exactly seven (7) days before the original billing date.

This advance billing helps prevent downtime in case of issues such as:

  • Insufficient PayPal balance
  • Expired or declined cards

If a renewal attempt fails, you’ll be notified immediately and given one full week to resolve the issue before the service expires.

Managing or Canceling a Subscription

You can view or cancel your subscriptions at any time from your TightHost Control Panel:

  1. Hover over your name in the top-right corner
  2. Select Recurring from the menu

Changes take effect instantly and require only a single click.

Note: PayPal subscriptions can also be canceled directly from your PayPal account.

Changing the Payment Method for a Subscription

If you want to keep your subscription active but switch the payment method:

  1. Go to the Recurring section in your Control Panel
  2. Click the Change button next to the subscription
  3. Select one of the available payment options:
    • PayPal
    • FirstData (all major credit and debit cards)
    • WorldPay (American Express)

You’ll then be redirected to a secure payment page to submit a $0.00 authorization payment.
This authorization allows TightHost to automatically charge the selected payment method when your hosting plan or domain renewal is due.

Final Notes

Recurring payments are designed to provide peace of mind and uninterrupted service. You remain in full control—subscriptions can be reviewed, updated, or canceled at any time through your Control Panel.

If you need help managing your subscriptions or have questions about billing, our TightHost support team is always ready to assist.

How to Change WHOIS Details for a Domain Registered with TightHost

Most domain name extensions (TLDs) registered with TightHost allow you to update their WHOIS contact details.

You can manage these changes directly from your Control Panel by navigating to:
My Domains → Registered Domains

Option 1: Edit WHOIS for a Single Domain

  1. In the list of registered domains, locate the eye icon in the Edit DNS/WHOIS column for the domain whose WHOIS information you want to modify.
  2. Click the icon to open the WHOIS editing form.
  3. Enter the updated contact information for each section:
    • Registrant
    • Billing
    • Administrative
    • Technical
  4. After completing the Registrant section, you may choose to copy the same contact details to the other sections if desired.
  5. Once all changes are complete, click Save Information at the bottom of the page.

You should see the confirmation message:
“The details have been modified successfully!”

Please note that WHOIS updates may take up to 24 hours to propagate worldwide.

Option 2: Edit WHOIS for One or Multiple Domains

  1. Check the box next to the domain (or domains) you want to update.
  2. Click the Change WHOIS button located above the domain list.
  3. Follow the same WHOIS editing steps described in Option 1.

This option allows you to update WHOIS details for multiple domains at once.

Important Notes

  • WHOIS contact details cannot be changed for certain TLDs, including:
    .co.uk, .org.uk, .me.uk, .ca, .eu, .be, .at
  • Some TLDs require manual updates. If you encounter an error message, please contact our support team by opening a ticket via:
Help Center → Open Support Ticket (top-right corner of your Control Panel).

WHOIS Privacy & Legal Notice

The WHOIS record is public, meaning anyone can look up the registration details of a domain name. This may expose personal information such as your name, address, email address, and phone number.

To protect your personal data from spam, telemarketing, and other misuse, we recommend enabling WHOIS ID Protection. For more details, please refer to the article:
What Is Domain Name WHOIS Privacy Protection?

⚠️ Providing false WHOIS information is illegal and may result in domain suspension or cancellation. WHOIS ID Protection is the only legitimate way to safeguard your personal data.

How to Pay Without a Credit/Debit Card or PayPal

At TightHost, we know that flexibility matters when it comes to managing your website. Not everyone uses credit cards or PayPal, so we’ve made it simple to pay for hosting plans, domain registrations, and service renewals using alternative, secure methods. Our goal is to make hosting accessible to everyone, no matter your preferred way to pay.

TightHost Alternative Payment Options

1. Skrill (Formerly Moneybookers)

If you have a Skrill account, you can transfer funds directly to support@duoserers.com. Be sure to include a note explaining what the payment is for, such as hosting, domain renewal, or invoice number.

Although Skrill accounts are often funded with credit or debit cards, many regions allow you to add funds via local banks—even without a traditional bank account.

2. Bank Wire Transfer

Bank wire payments are another secure option. During checkout or renewal, select this method to see TightHost’s bank account details and complete a short form including:

  • Sender’s full name
  • Transaction or reference number
  • Exact payment amount

You can also submit this information via a support ticket. Be sure to clearly indicate the purpose of your payment so it can be processed quickly.
